Gloucester National Spiritualist Church
he Gloucester National Spiritualist Church was founded in April 1954, there had been a spiritualist church in Gloucester for many years prior to this date, the Services were held in a rented room in Russell Street. It moved to Montpellier where some people wanted to terminate the affiliation with the National Spiritualist Union and some didn’t. The group split up and thats when the Gloucester National Spiritualist Church was started in a basement room.
On the 12th May 1954 it was decided to start an open circle on Friday 16th April and from that day the Good Friday Circle has been held every year as the anniversary of that occasion.
On Sunday 14th June 1959 a special meeting was held to inform the committee that a piece of land with a meeting room had been offered for sale. This is the land that the Church is now on.
The new Church was opened on Saturday 31st March 1962.
