Police have put a further dispersal order in place in Gloucester this weekend as part of the continuing work to tackle anti-social behaviour.
The Section 35 order runs from 6pm tonight (Friday 4 October) until 6pm on Sunday (6 October) and covers the city centre and Gloucester Quays.
It will allow officers to direct any groups of two or more to leave the area for up to 48 hours when they believe the behaviour of the group is likely to result in members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed.
As an extension of the order, they will also be able to seize the bikes of anyone causing a nuisance through their riding.
It follows a similar order which was put in place last weekend after reports that a large group of youths on bicycles were causing a nuisance around the city centre.
The group were spotted cycling in an anti-social manner, attempting to perform stunts in pedestrianised areas and riding towards traffic, between King’s Square and the Docks.
Sergeant Andy Doyle from the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We are continuing to get reports of a group of youths who believe they can come into the city to cause anti-social behaviour.
“We will not tolerate anyone whose irresponsible behaviour causes a danger to both them and members of the public.
“This order aims to deter them from coming into Gloucester and creating a nuisance. Any youths will be dispersed and bikes potentially seized, if they contravene it.
