Nothgate Street, Gloucester in the late 1950s. The camera is just past what is now Black Dog way ooking north.
Northgate Street.The first store in the picture is Southern Stores then Lawrence’s the Bakers and next to them was Liptons
Longsmith Steet. In the middle ages this street was known as Smiths Street due to the large number of forges that worked there. In the 1930s, the area that is Fenced (on the left) was the Factory Girl’sClub.
No mistaking the Spa ground We think it looked rather nice as a garden for everyone to enjoy.
