Forest of Dean District Council has appointed a new cabinet member for property and projects.

Councillor Dave Tradgett has taken on the role, replacing Councillor Sid Phelps who has stepped down from the position.

Councillor Tradgett thanked his predecessor for his work and said he was honoured to take on the role.

He said he looks forward to working with fellow councillors and council staff to ensure projects continue to deliver for local residents.

Councillor Phelps said he had enjoyed his time as cabinet member and was proud of the progress made on a number of projects.

He highlighted the new leisure facilities currently being developed at Five Acres as one of the key schemes during his time in the role.

Councillor Phelps has stepped down from the cabinet position to focus on other commitments but will continue to serve as district councillor for the Lydbrook ward.

Councillor Tradgett will now hold the cabinet role alongside his duties as district councillor for Longhope and Huntley.
