Gloucester City Homes (GCH) continues to deliver a key tenant promise as a result of stock transfer to build much needed new affordable homes in the City with local development company, Aqua Construction.

Since becoming a housing association in 2015, GCH has delivered 39 new homes, with 24 of these in Matson. On Thursday 25th January three 2 bed homes were launched at Amberley Road and work is currently underway at Garnalls Road and Winsley Road, consisting of a mix of houses, flats and a bungalow.

These new homes signal GCH’s intention to build better homes for new and existing residents as part of GCH’s future wider scale plans for regeneration of the Matson (and Podsmead) communities. Whilst we are in the early stages with all residents being invited to give their ideas and feedback, GCH is making good progress with the support of the City and County Council and many key partners like Health and Education.

“Building new high quality homes is important for meeting demand on housing and also improving quality of life for our tenants. New homes which are safe, secure and warm provide better life chances for residents and that is so important” as it says Ashley Green, Chief Executive of Gloucester City Homes

Jason Wasley, Managing Director of Aqua Construction comments: “It’s great to be working with GCH on its new homes development programme. We are a local housing developer based in Gloucester, specialising in building high quality homes working in partnership to deliver much needed housing for the local community. We believe that we go that extra mile to meet GCH’s high expectations and standards for its new homes programme.”
