Police were called at 11.25am today following reports of man being assaulted in the Bisley Road area of Tuffley, Gloucester. 

A 24 year old male from Gloucester was picked up by ambulance from near to St Peter’s School, Stroud Road and  was taken by ambulance to Southmead Hospital with a serious, but not life threatening, stab wound to his chest.

Armed officers and police dogs were deployed to search the area for the offender/s.  Various roads were searched including  Bourton Road, Windrush Road, Tetbury Road, Kemble Road, Chalford Road and Westcote Road.

A 20 year man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of assault and causing grievous bodily harm and is in police custody.

We would  ask for the public’s patience while the police cordon is up and roads remain closed at the junction of Chalford Road and Bisley Road while police investigations are taking place.
