Gloucester’s newly elected Labour MP has voted for the Government’s proposals to scrap the winter fuel allowance for millions of pensioners.
Alex McIntyre gave his backing to the Labour motion which will see around 10 million people will now miss out on the payment of up to £300.
A Conservative move to block the government’s plans was defeated by a majority of 120.
Shouts of “shame” could be heard in the Commons as the result was read out.
