Police are warning people to be vigilant after receiving two reports of suspected distraction burglaries in Tredworth yesterday evening.
It’s believed that two men have been spotted in the rear gardens of properties and when approached by the homeowners they have claimed that they cannot speak English and have held out notes which read “please help” and “can you help me get a job”.
In one of the incidents, a purse containing £30 was taken from inside a property.
The caller described one of the men as being Eastern European and his in 40s-50s. He was 5ft tall and had short black hair.
He was wearing a grey zip up top, blue denim jeans and black shoes with a brass buckle on the front. He was carrying an Armani bag which had sunglasses attached to it.
In a second incident, the caller described the other man as having a South East Asian appearance and being in his 20s-30s. He was 5ft tall and of slight build.
He was wearing a white/cream baseball cap, white/cream jacket, blue denim jeans and trainers with a red stripe around the top. He was carrying a brown satchel style bag.
Officers are asking the public to remain vigilant and let them know if they have seen men matching these descriptions in the area by calling 101 and quoting incident number 367 of 25 September.
