Two men have been arrested following a robbery in Cheltenham in the early hours of Saturday.

At about 12.40am police were called to the Norfolk House restaurant in Well Walk where two men had assaulted one member of staff and threatened another before stealing cash which they were counting.

Both offenders left the restaurant but were arrested by officers minutes later.

The men, one aged 39 and from Cheltenham and the other aged 33 and from Gloucester, are currently in custody awaiting questioning.

The member of staff who was assaulted suffered minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment. Both were very shaken by the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 16 of 28 April.
