A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Gloucester last night.
Police were called to an address on West Lodge Drive shortly after 8.20pm with a report a man had been stabbed.
Officers attended and a 55-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in custody at this time.
The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by the ambulance service. He suffered serious injuries and is currently in a stable condition.
A scene guard will remain in place while the police investigation continues.
