A man has been arrested after two men suffered stab wounds during an incident in Gloucester yesterday.

Shortly after 8.25pm police were called to a premises on Southgate Street where two men aged in their 40s had both sustained a stab wound to their leg.

A 20-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of wounding and he remains in custody at this time.

The two injured men were taken to hospital by the ambulance service and one man was later discharged. The second man suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 and quote incident 427 of 5 June.

There is a scene guard in place in Southgate Street and this is likely to remain until late afternoon today, Wednesday 6 June.
