It’s a group of seven Chedworth residents who are elected by fellow parishioners for a four year
term to represent the concerns and aspirations of the local community. Each year, the Council
appoints one of its members to be Chairman and another to be Vice Chairman.
Each Councillor must sign the form of Acceptance of Office & adhere to statutory requirements
including a Code of Conduct and the Standing Orders. They must also declare any personal or
prejudicial interest in an item of business at any meeting and be excluded from any decisions.
In addition to the Parish Councillors, who are unpaid representatives, the Council employs a paid
part-time Clerk to carry out its business and to ensure that the statutory requirements are met.
