Police investigating two distraction thefts last month have released CCTV images of two women they would like to speak to in connection.
A woman aged in her 70s was followed from her bank on Southgate Street, Gloucester by two women after she had withdrawn a sum of cash on 5 June.
She was in Iceland in The Oxebode a short time later when two women approached her.
While one woman was talking to her, the other woman removed the victim’s purse from her handbag and then left the store.
The victim later realised her purse and phone were missing and more money had been withdrawn from her account. This resulted in a loss of more than £1,000.
In a separate incident earlier on the same day, a woman aged in her 80s had been distracted by two women while she was shopping alone in Poundland on Tewkesbury High Street.
One of the women took a purse from the victim’s handbag which contained £80 in cash and a number of cards. The victim realised her purse was missing when she went to pay at the till.
If you recognise the two women pictured below, or have any information which could help with enquiries, call police on 101 and quote incident number 306 of 5 June.
