Police received a call at 12:30am yesterday morning following reports that a man was shouting for help after going into the river at Westgate Bridge in Gloucester.

Officers have no description of the man but it’s believed that he was walking a large light tan coloured German Shepherd/Husky breed dog at the time.

Despite a large scale search including the police helicopter and fire service boats no-one was located.

Dog walkers who are familiar with the area and may know who the man is or anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 11 of 13 August.
