About Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire, one of the most beautiful counties in England, is made up of several distinct areas:
- The Cotswolds, a range of gentle limestone hills covers a large part of the county. This part of Gloucestershire is internationally famous with good reason. The visitor will see picturesque villages nestling into the valleys that are the epitome of Englishness.
- The Royal Forest of Dean ( one of the oldest hunting forests ) will delight new visitors with the 100 square kilometres of woodlands, pretty little villages, ancient coal workings, free running sheep, wild flowers and a culture all of it's own
- The Severn Vale lies along the valley containing Britain's longest river, famed for it's bore, lush meadows and it's wild life.
- This section of the Gloucestershire Portal contains a guide to the county, and pictures and video clips of the towns and villages of the county.
Prince Charles, has his home here at Higrove Park, and a number of other royals also live in Gloucestershire. You will find links to his site among many others that cover the area in this site
