John Taylor
John Taylor was born on 24th August 1580. He was educated at the Crypt Grammar School ( as was the author ) and then was apprenticed to a London waterman. During this time he was press ganged into the navy. When he returned to his trade he supplemented his income by composing rhymes for weddings, funerals etc.
He started to travel a good deal
