Gloucester Carnival
Gloucester carnival is held at the end of July every year. There is always a fun fair at the park, and the carnival procession starts and finishes at the park after winding it's way through the city centre. We have also created video clips for our broadband section, and pages for the 2001 carnival
The Mayor and Mayoress of Gloucester were there to judge the floats as was the city Sheriff, both wearing their chains of office.
The theme of the procession this year was cartoon characters. This year of course was the last Carnival of the century.Another famous character seen today was Gloucester's very own town crier. The carnival lasts for two weeks and ends with a firework display. This year (2001 ) we will be filming the procession for our Broadband Gloucester sectiion.
The procession winds it's way from Gloucester Park, through the city centre and back to the park. The streets are always packed with crowds enjoying the spectacle, and this year was no exception. The day was gloriously hot and sunny
