FIGHTING A BRAIN INJURY!
This is the life story of Gary Steer. Born and raised in Gloucester, Gary was born with a gift. From the day he could walk he loved having a ball at his feet. At the age of six he joined the most successful youth football club in Gloucestershire and became a member of a very talented team with a passionate manager. This team didn’t know what it felt like to lose and there nobody who took defeat worse than Gary. By the age of eleven his dream was to play for West Ham United. Everything was going great until 27th February 1993. He had been swimming with a friend from football. On the way home Gary had a bicycle accident and immediately fell into unconsciousness. He was rushed to hospital and suffered a brain haemorrhage.
