The George has been disticntly "average" since the depature of Ted & Barbara Cade a good few years ago. To be frank, as it is Peter Arkells local Pub, I am at a loss as to why they have allowed a sucession of "questionable" Licesees to be in charge since then. Now however with Roy & Vivienne in charge, Arkells have finally got it right! The Pub has been hoisted by its bootlaces. it currently serves possibly the best pint of ARKELLS "Moonlight" in the County. The George is very much a Pub and not a resturant. It (unusually today) has both Lounge and Public Bars. There is however an excellent if small menu and the food is of a high Standard (Curries especially recomended). (Roy and Vivienne have obtained the services of the Chef from the Masons Arms Meysey Hampton an etablishment well lnown for its quality food) Roy & Vivienne have given us back our village Pub. My wife and I use it on a regular basis and can only give it the highest recomendation I have no connection with the establishment, other than that of satisfied customer.
