The Cotswolds is an area of England that has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. The cotswolds covers several counties as well as Gloucestershire and stretches roughly from Stratford on Avon down to Bath.
Popular with both the English themselves and visitors from all over the world, the Cotswolds are well-known for gentle hillsides (‘wolds’), sleepy villages and for being so ‘typically English’. The limestone in the Cotswolds is a rich honey coloured brown which gradually grades creamier the further south you go.
