TOP prizes at a charity auction and dinner dance in Forest Green include a bottle of whisky donated and signed by prime minister David Cameron.
The dinner dance in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 15 at Forest Green Rovers Football Club and the ticket price of £30 includes a three-course dinner and disco.
The meal will be followed by a charity auction with lots including a hamper from Kendrick Street Deli, a £250 beauty hamper, a £65 Cafe Direct hamper, a hamper from the Co-operative Food Store and a case of wine from Naked Wines.
Cousins Naomi King and Kerry Neale, both from Stroud, are organising the event.
Kerry has been fundraising for breast cancer awareness since her mother Maria McClarkin died from the illness ten years ago, six days after her 48th birthday.
She said: "Supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer is so important because everyone knows someone who has been affected by the disease.
"The dinner dance is in memory of my mother and to recognise the successful fight against breast cancer of my aunt Christine White." The pair managed to get a bottle of whisky signed by the PM through Kerry's sister, Emma McClarkin, who is a Conservative MEP.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK and around 1,000 women die of the disease each month.
Breakthrough Breast Cancer works to develop new treatments.
To book tickets for the dinner dance call Kerry on 0797 022 9982, email breakthroughdinnerdance@gmail.co.uk or look up BreakthroughDinnerDance on Facebook.
