The latest version of these boards is now available, but our current version of mysql and php need to be upgraded before we can install them.

At 5 pm today we will be ugrading php and mysql. This should only require a few minutes of downtime.

Once we are sure that all sites are running normally we will install the new boards.

Next week we will upgrade Plesk to the latest version.

Nicely done Eddie, it's good to have a hosting admin that takes care to ensure the latest stable versions are running. I use another hosting provider for a few sites and they are still running PHP4 and Plesk 7.

Thanks Alex. Yes, we are now running PHP/5.2.9 and the latest stable version of mysql 5

Upgrading plesk is a little more complex as there are large changes in the mail setup ( all good ) The plesk upgrade will take place next week.

As this is a very important upgrade I will be installing the Plesk upgrade on Sunday evening. A slot of 6PM until 10PM is being set aside for the upgrade.

I will be closing the boards at 6 pm Sunday as there will be a server reboot, and many services need switching on and off. Hopefully it wil not take the full 4 hours.

Once we have this up and running then we will be performing the same set of upgrades on our other servers. I'l be leaving things then for a further week to ensure that none of our hosting customers has any problems, and then at that point I will upgrade the boards to the new version 3

I apologise for the cautious approach, which is a little time consuming, but beter safe than sorry, and I do have to make sure my customers dont have any problems.
