A Meet at Slimbridge was mentioned earlier. It looks like the weather may improve in the next week. How about the weekend 20th and 21st ?

Hi Eddie, 21st sounds ok to me at the moment, but my life is a rollercoaster and I dont know whats happening normally until just before, but if I am free I will definately be there providing the weather is at least not wet and windy. Itching to try out the new kit. Don't know how good its going to be but just ordered a 2x converter that sits on the end of the lens, not between the body and the lens, its probably rubbish but for £26 delivered thought I'd give it a try, if its really awful can just relist it on ebay and let someone else get the invluable experience I did !. I'm really only thinking of trying it on the moon pics though, but slimbridge might be a good chance to try it as well. So will probably be ok. My 28-80mm lens broke yesterday, the motor became screechy and it wouldnt auto focus properly, so thought i'd look in The Citizen, there was a film EOS in there for £40, rang it up and it had a 28-90mm lens with it, the guy even delivered it from cheltenham as he was over this way anyway, when it got here turned out to be an ultrasonic lens too, so was pleased with that. Just have an EOS 300V film body here now that I dont really know what to do with ! Maybe I'll try film again !

Well good news, it sold on ebay tonight with the broken lens for £40.10, I was totally honest in my auction before anyone jumps down my throat for selling dodgy stuff to unsuspecting people ! So I'm pleased with that, means I got the new lens free !.

Have cleared the way for sunday now at Slimbridge, providing its not gale force winds and lashing rain I will see whoever turns up down there ! I'm aiming to get there around 10-10.30am. I know its late but i AM working til 12 saturday night ! :)

Look forward to meeting some of you.

I might can show up, don't know yet. Met Agger twice and he didn't run screaming so maybe I'll chance it. Almost met Damo, would be nice to thank him for the lens hood in person. I should probably buy him a coffee. I think I scared the bajesus out of Doughnut with a long winded reply message. Hopefully he'll realize that I'm just a blonde female American and will forgive me. I'm really quite shy and quiet, ask Agger! angels

Scared Me!
I'll have you know dear lady, I'm a true Englishman. Nar Tammy, I just haven't had time to call YET. I'm going through this lot putting in me penny's worth. Then Have to fill in some long-winded forms. I'll try to get back to you, when I'm sitting at the computer with the Wacom tablet on. Just wished I could get to Slimbridge, if I could I would!

Let's hope so Eddie, that would be just perfect !

Had a good morning this morning at Westgate with the dogs, was experimenting with the Tv settings on my camera, was getting some favourable results in comparison with the "action mode" that the camera has on the dial. So will play further along those lines. What settings does everyone else use in certain situations ? I use manual settings alot, but sometimes just feel lazy and want the camera to do some work for me !

Oh by the way, Jen got a bunch of flowers today !!! :) I am so good. She didnt think the gesture was quite so nice when I said she could have them after I have used them in my macro studio ! :ices_rofl:

Damo :itolduso: But looking forward to seeing the pictures.
Camera settings? hhmmm I've been mostly using the manual setting. When not that then one of the automatic ones. I'm embarrassed to say that I've not even tried the A-DEP, Tv or Av modes. Even more embarrassed to say that I'm not exactly sure what they do. :-D The A-DEP is probably Depth of field priority. Av is probably Aperture priority. Tv is..ummm  I'll have to go look it up. :P

Dang, it's after midnight again!!!!

PS....
What time and were at Slimbridge are we meeting? I should be able to make it :-D

OK, 10:30am sounds good to me, and Damo said he could make it by about 10:30. Agger will probably be there at the break of dawn as he's an early bird!

Now where? In the Lobby? Just inside the park? Up in the tower? Down by the lake? Hang around the swans?

So if any of you are still around will try and say hi, if not then I look forward to sharing photos tomorrow night. Fingers crossed the weather is better, just gotten in from work and its a windy wet night !

Hey guys, had a great time at Slimbridge today, it was really nice meeting you all, and I am looking forward to future photo meets, shame the restaurant was so crowded, was looking forward to a geeky session looking at everybody's cameras and gear ! :)

Anyway here are a few that I took, although I have to say I was a little distracted wanting to chat to you all, so didn't get as many as I normally would have, I stayed on for a little while but used the time to mainly get my bearings for next time I go down.

Oh WoW, amazing shots Damo! When did you take those?!!! Dang, ashamed to show mine now!! Eddie got some good shots too, where was I when you guys were taking these? Obviously either looking the wrong way or running my mouth! I especially like the swan one, that's a great shot! Oh and the flying ducks is great too! I tried and tried to get a shot like that! And you took these with the 75-100 lens? I've got the same lens, I obviously don't have your talent. :P
