The morning of the 24th May will see the torch Relay start its day in Gloucester at 8.15am when it sets off from The Docks and travels through the City for approximately an hour. See map.

It will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase Gloucester as The Torch and the world’s mdia follows its journey through the City.

The following information will help you to plan ahead and be part of the Torch’s historic journey!

Business Continuity

It is expected the Torch Relay will attract significant visitor numbers to line the route even before it begins its route at 8.15am. In order to capitalise on these visitor numbers, you may wish to consider opening your business earlier than normal on that day. If your premises licence does not include these hours and you wish to sell alcohol or carry out other regulated entertainment such as recorded music, you can apply online for a Temporary Event Notice to cover these activities atwww.gloucester.gov.uk

Gloucester (08:15am to 9:07am)
It is anticipated all affected roads will be closed two hours before the procession passes.
Torch Bearer roads are as follows: Gloucester Docks, Commercial Road, Southgate Street, Westgate Street, College Street, Cathedral Grounds, Northgate Street, London Road, Cheltenham Road, Estcourt Road, Kingsholm Road, Gouda Way, Priory Road, and St. Oswalds Road.
Bus access will maintained to the bus depot in London road until 30 minutes before the procession passes.

Is Gloucester having a practice run? I was stuck behind the torch bus(es) in Peterborough at the weekend where they were doing a practice run. Seemed like a waste of time and resources to me!
The quality of today's music is being ruined http://www.turnmeup.org/
