Getting ready for gardening time

I always like looking through these to get inspiration.
Did have a quick tidy up at the weekend but don't like to disturb too many leaves etc in case there are
small animals lurking.
This time last year my son had the first of the frog spawn appear, haven't seen any yet but there again the ponds have been frozen over and I don't know whether to break the ice or just leave it so I've left it to melt.

Such a nice sunny day yesterday that I decided to spend a few hours in the garden. Did a bit of clearing of weeds and tidied up a bit, also creosoted a few fences. The frogs were very active in the ponds. Blue tits were checking out the bird houses. It was great.
Hopefully spring is round the corner.

Crocuses and celandines were flowering today. However, it's not quite spring yet, and I expect a bit of cold weather in the next few weeks. The sun has been lovely, though.

It must be nice to be able to do a did of clearing up in your gardens, and see the evidence of spring when you look out of your windows. All I see is SNOW<SNOW< SNOW. I may be able to start my garden clean-up etc. in late April or early May. late March brings the Daffs, Tulips, Crocuses, and Snowdrops. So I will just have to bide my time until then.

We got another 10cm of snow last night and they are predicting another 10-25cm to be on the ground by Sunday. One good thing about this much snow I can't see all the work I have to do this spring. The news had a feature last night about Spring coming to Victoria in British Columbia which is our Western most Province. The climate there is much more temprate than SW. Ontario which gets affected by snow squalls that come off of Lake Huron with the Arctic air passing over the warmer lake thus SNOW... Come on April

If you have a green house you could start sowing odds n ends but keep bubble wrap over at night to keep warm of use a window sill in house
