A STABLES in Crackstone is urgently seeking field space in which its horses can graze.

Heartshore Stables, which is in the process of becoming a charity, specialises in a technique called the horse boy method.

This encourages children with autism to ride horses.

The rhythm of the horse is supposed to have a special and profound effect on the inside of the human body and is thought to be hugely beneficial to those with neurological disorders.

Heartshore’s horses, which have been specifically prepared to work with autistic children, had been grazing in a field belonging to Minchinhampton Rugby Club.

"The club is building a new clubhouse and pitches on the field, which means we will have to find somewhere for the horses to graze," said Liz Nagle, of Heartshore Stables, who is searching for at least three acres within ten minutes walk.

"We really need to find field space for five of our horses, which contribute toward the range of therapies we offer.

"At present we are working with nearby schools and colleges as well as offering our individual horseboy sessions and camps."

Anyone able to help the stables should call Liz on 01453 887964 or 079285 82823.
