Went to see my mum last week and she gave me a wonderful orange tree.

She just planted a pip in a pot with some compost and some months later it has developed into a lovely leafy plant. She has grown loads over the last few years but unfortunately none have flowered, so no fruit but they are lovely plants.

Great for kids to grow :icon_biggrin:

Interesting article, especially as it can take 7 years to fruit! Maybe we are too impatient.

I have not got a lot of patience at the best of times. You see these orange plants in garden centres complete with fruit and they look great. Thought about getting a lemon one to go with the G & T's in the summer :icon_biggrin:

They are quite easy to grow but when mine got to a few feet high the leaves started to turn brown and fall off. Apparently ginger is also easy but I have never tried it.
