This is Gloucestershire
It is a great shame, but the web site of our local newspaper, The Citizen is just about unusable. The comments are often batant trollism with arguments, bullying and quite disgusting personal comments. Those that do get banned simply register with another user name. It is impossible to sort for local news. I try clicking on Gloucester news and every day find it full of Cheltenham Tewkesbury and Forest of Dean Stories.
What a shame. We do need local papers.
Old Gloucester – Pictures of Gloucester’s past
Many of you will Remember John Tocknel who created the Old Gloucester web site showing photos of the Glorious past of Gloucester city. Sadly John is no longer with us, but I did promise to retain his site which I have done. This week I’m updating the site, giving it a modern style sheet, and I’m part way through and should finish this weekend. At that point I’ll start adding photos from my own archives, showing the Knight family and the Heath ( freemen of Gloucester ) who are all related to me.
If you have any photos that you would like to add to this site then please send them in. If you would like to use any of the photos, please ask, don’t just take them.
